“When we look up at night and view the stars, everything we see is shining because of distant nuclear fusion.” Carl Sagan. The goal of Project Reishit is to develop a cheap functional nuclear fusion reactor.
Project Reishit is based off of the Farnsworth-Hirsch fusor. Many reactors of its class are incredibly expensive, but the design for Project Reishit is approximately one-tenth of the price of traditional fusion reactors in its class.
The largest hurdle of Project Reishit is how dangerous it is. the scientists working on Project Reishit would be exposed to high voltage and x-ray radiation levels. They’re not concerned about safety, but they‘re concerned about maintaining their reputation, which shouldn’t be a problem, but would put a lot of pressure on them.
We hope them the best. Thanks for reading. Stay tunes for more!
